FIRM HISTORY

The firm was established in Los Angeles in 1972 as the first CPA firm founded by Chinese immigrants in the United States. Since its establishment, the firm has undergone several reorganizations. After naming the firm Chen & Fan Accountancy Corporation in 1992 in view of expanding its service areas and increasing its partnership and professional staff, it opened its first branch office in the San Jose/Fremont area in Northern California. In 1997, it also established a second branch office in San Diego, a southern California city near the Mexican border. Although its service area is focused in northern, central and southern California, the firm also serves clients located in many other states throughout the U.S.

Currently the firm has ten partners and scores of professional staff. The head and branch offices are each managed by various partners. The staff of the whole firm can be mobilized strategically to meet the needs of its clients in providing quality professional accounting, auditing, taxation and financial consulting services.

The partners of the firm have extensive backgrounds in practice gained through employment with Chen & Fan, as well as their former involvement with international organizations. The firm’s clientele includes multinational companies, manufacturers, distributors, banks, professional firms, construction contractors, importers/exporters, individuals, and many others. Having knowledge of SEC requirements and experience in assisting companies to go public, Chen & Fan also provides auditing, international tax planning, financial consulting services to a number of clients who are public companies in Asia.
